Weder Noch mit Bart

Weder Noch mit Bart (english title: Neither) is an ethnographic film portraying people outside the gender binary. The director immerses herself in the queer subcultures of Zurich (CH) and Nijmegen (NL) and gives visibility to subversive gender expressions. Diverse non-binaric gender expressions are captured audiovisually and carried out of the subcultural milieus. With the developed method of ethnographic film art, creative, artistic and scientific claims are combined in Neither. An intense phase of participant observation allows the director to create an image from within the scene. The film deals with alternative gender presentations and the everyday life of the two main actors, as well as the individual and social engagement with gender diversity.
